The name originates from our business starting up in Chicago (CHI-TOWN!) and in honor of Grandpa Lee immigrating from South Korea to Chicago to find a better life for his family; and now seeking better flavor! Julie Geils, founder of Bellissimo Chicago, created her limoncello in a family kitchen in a Chicago suburb. She created Bellisimo out of love for quality food and drinks, lots of laughs, and the desire to make any day a special one with friends. Her passion for all things Italian (particularly food and drinks), along with the popularity of her homemade limoncello among friends and family, inspired her to perfect the recipe year after year. Unpossible Mead is a hidden gem just off Route 66 in quiet downtown Dwight, IL. Since 2018, we have racked up dozens of awards for our meads. We focus on full-flavored session meads as well as traditional and barrel aged meads. Our tongue in cheek trademark is “Booze from Bees.” We know booze doesn’t actually come from bees :)
ERIS was inspired by the Greek goddess known for causing mayhem. As the story goes, Eris threw the golden apple of discord into a party that she wasn’t invited to, creating chaos as everyone scrambled for its beauty. As cider makers in a city of over 100 breweries and women in a male-dominated industry, we know what it’s like not to be invited to the party. That’s why we focus on inclusivity, approachability, and accessibility in everything we do.
